Casablanca at the Jewellery Quarter…

From our Jewellery Qtr. Emporium

For our 4th Film Event and 2nd JQ Dinner this April we’ll be showing the eternal classic Casablanca.

Set in World War II, Rick Blaine, exiled American and former freedom fighter, runs the most popular nightspot in town. The cynical lone wolf Blaine comes into the possession of two valuable letters of transit. Much to his surprise Rick’s one time love Ilsa turns up, who ran out on him in Paris. But when he learns she had good reason to, they plan to run off together again using the letters of transit. Well, that was their original plan….

Pop in to either of our emporiums to pick up your £10.00 supper ticket (£12.50 on the door) which will get you a delicious Moroccan themed dinner and a glass of wine, beer, or hot drink.

There’s a little interval during the film where you can pop to the WC or pick up a piece of cake from the bar, or as before text your order through on the night and we’ll bring your cake and drinks over. Now that’s service!

Date Thursday the 26th of April. Doors Open and Food served from 6.30. Film Starts 7.30.

Email peter@urbancoffee.co.uk  or pop in to either of our Emporiums for more information.

Storytelling at the Jewellery Quarter….

From our Jewellery Qtr. Emporium

Over here at The Jewellery Quarter we are getting ever so excited as we get ready for our third storytelling event on Wednesday the 29th.

Fairy tales, folk tales, myths and fables; our oldest stories have long been brought to life by entertaining storytellers. Birmingham Storytellers’ Studio is dedicated to the practice and presentation of this ancient art form. Headed by experienced storyteller Graham Langley, Storytellers’ Studio entertains audiences of all ages with performances of traditional tales that create sheer magic, taking you on flights of imagination capable of surpassing JK Rowling and Philip Pullman in one swoop. This combination of timeless stories delivered in a lively contemporary setting is a sure-fire recipe for a great night out with Storytellers’ Studio at the Urban Coffee Company.

Food served from 6.30pm. Stories start at 7.30pm. (Tickets £7.00)
